UD Guna Animal Clinic (Denpasar) — Best for Complex Cases

If your dog needs surgery or has a condition that multiple other vets haven't been able to diagnose, UD Guna is where you go. The lead vet has decades of surgical experience and handles cases that get referred from other clinics across Bali.

A smaller practice with a more personal touch. If you prefer a vet who remembers your dog's name and history without checking a computer, this is your place. The vets here take time — consultations run longer, explanations are thorough, and you never feel rushed.

What a Good Vet Visit Should Include

Regardless of which vet you choose, here's what a quality consultation in Bali should cover:

1. Full physical exam: Ears, eyes, mouth/teeth, skin/coat, lymph nodes, heart/lungs (stethoscope), abdomen (palpation), temperature, weight. Should take 5-10 minutes minimum.
2. Discussion of findings: The vet should tell you what they found, in plain language. If something needs follow-up, they should explain why and when.
3. Vaccination check: They should review your dog's vaccine history and tell you if anything is due or overdue.
4. Parasite prevention check: They should ask about your flea/tick/heartworm prevention and confirm you're covered for Bali's risks.
5. Written record: You should leave with a consultation summary, vaccination certificate (if applicable), and any prescriptions or treatment instructions.

Red Flags — When to Switch Vets

• 🚩 No physical exam performed — If the vet listens to your description and prescribes medication without examining your dog, leave.
• 🚩 Can't explain the diagnosis in terms you understand — Language barriers happen, but a vet who can't or won't ensure you understand what's wrong with your dog is not doing their job.
• 🚩 Dirty or disorganized facility — A vet clinic should be clean. Period. Blood, hair, or mess from previous patients is unacceptable.
